My KY front porch

New Wooden Monograms at The Polka Dot Poodle

Over at Kelly's Korner (one of our favorite blogs) they are doing a segment on SHOW US YOUR FRONT PORCH. I normally don't link up but I wanted to share my new favorite love for indoor and outdoor decorating. We all know that anySouthern Girl loves a good monogram ANYWHERE right. My philosophy is, "if it isn't walking, monogram it" HA! Oh wait, I think I'd even monogram something if it WAS WALKING. Here are a few ideas that we think would look great with our new wooden monograms.
The 3 initial monograms are perfect to fit inside a wreath or even mounted to a picture frame.
(picture examples taken from web for visual purposes)

What a great idea to hang over your bed or in a child's room

Monograms are extremely popular right now.A great way to personalize your unique home and make it YOURS!

If you are interested in more details, look us up on Facebook at The Polka Dot Poodle or our business facebook page is http://thepolkadotpoodle.blogspot.com   Thanks for stopping by!

First swim of the summer 2012

Can u believe it's almost June and today was our first OFFICIAL swim outing of the summer? Brooks is loving putting his swimming lesson knowledge to use and Reid absolutely loved it. He just kicked and splashed and giggled. So excited about pretty days ahead with my two boys. So blessed GOD has given us two happy healthy babies. I know it all could be so different in a moments notice.

Swimming Lessons

I can't believe our big brother is already old enough for swim lessons. He wasn't quite old enough to start T Ball this year do we decided to enroll in swim lessons. Brooks has done really well. He has already attempted to jump in our pool without his puddle jumper. Where did our little man go? He's all grown up now. We sure are enjoying our two boys this spring.

Reid 6 month visit

I know time is flying by because I can't believe he's already 6 months old. These are a few things you are doing:

You weighed 15.4 pounds at your 6 month dr visit.
You were 26 1/2 inches long.

Your spitting up from reflux issues are getting better but you still take your Zantac medicine once a day.

You are wearing a size 2 diaper but you are about ready for 3s. (this makes me sad as they only go up to size 6 and we are almost halfway there.

You are wearing 6 month onesies and pretty much 6-12 month clothes. You can still wear some 3-6 mo pants.

You are still eating 6 (5oz) bottles of mommies milk in a bottle and you will have absolutely NOTHING to do with nursing. Not enough patience with the flow I'm guessing.

Your naps are still not predictable but you are starting to fight going to sleep more than before.

You love your paci, Sophie, puppy, taggie blankets, and you love a blanket to snuggle with.

We started baby food at 5 months and 3 weeks. You've tried squash, carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans, peas, prunes, and applesauce. Your favorite is the rice cereal with mommies homeade applesauce. You weren't too fond of peas the first time around but you decided you liked them the second try.

You are LOVING all your exersausers and jumperoo. When we pick you up your legs automatically start jumping like you do in your jumperoo.

You are so in love with your brother. It amazes me how cranky you can be and when he comes near you your mood changes instantly.

I am loving this stage right now. I thank God everyday that he gave us two healthy sweet tempered babies.

A Long Time Coming...

I know you probably did a double take when you noticed that I have a new blog post up showing up on your blog roll as it has definately been WAY too long. 10 months tomorrow to be exact. I'm not one for placing blame on things, however I started my new business The Polka Dot Poodle and it has been such a productive business and what little spare time I had I solely put it all into the business. Then we had some pregnancy issues and spilling my guts on my blog just didn't seem like what I wanted to do. We have a new baby (well not too new, as he is 6 months old) but he has definately taken my time these last 6 months. With Bryan being in tax season taking care of two babies is very much like being a single parent therefore leaving hardly any time for extra hobbies.

However recently I have been so frustrated with myself for not documenting the daily events going on in our new babies life. I often look back at my blog at things that Brooks did while he was growing up. Not just the big milestones like walking or getting rid of his pacifier, but all the little things that I know one day I will not remember as just regualar mundane day to day life happenings. I guess what has kept me from getting back on the blogging bandwagon was that I was so far behind and to try to catch up to everything that has happened in the last year was so time consuming. But I have given much thought to it and I want to do it for my sake. It may be short post just full of pictures, but that's all that most people care about seeing anyways.

Speaking of people wanting to know what's going on in our daily lives, I have decided to make my blog private. For several reasons, I do not feel comfortable displaying our daily life routines on the internet for all the world to read and view. However if you are interested in wanting to read our family blog, please leave a comment in the comment section with your email address and I will email you an invite to read our blog. I do enjoy reading everyone's comments about my babies (what mother doesn't right) however I feel this is the really more for scrapbooking reasons for the future.

Easter 2011

The Easter Bunny came to visit our house. I think he/she went a little overboard, OOPS!

He even brought this rather LARGE ball, what was Mr. Bunny thinking?

After 2 church services, the little ones had their Egg Hunt. Since it was so yucky outside, we had it in the basement of the church. Brooks was good and shared the eggs with other fellow hunters.

We found some under tables, and even went crawling for the hard to get ones.

Little man stopped for a pose with mommy. I could eat him up!

Our next stop was Bryan's parents, this is all the grandkids.

Our Easter Family Photo. We looked a little tired and worn out by this point but we were thankful to be celebrating such a joyous occasion. I know it is super easy to get wrapped up in the COMMERCIALISM of this holiday, however there is something about getting up at 5am and heading to a sunrise service that really makes you stop and think about the true meaning of EASTER. So thankful I know HIM, he lives in my heart all because HE died for everyone. Happy Easter!
