I don't know about you but we sure are ready for Spring to be here and STAY a while. Last Saturday, we took advantage of a gorgeous day and let Brooks try out his birthday present we got him last September that he hated. You'll have to read the previous post about his monster truck. Well, lets just say, 6 months sure has made a huge difference and he is all about his birthday present now.
Little man drives, kind of like his momma. As you can see, he isn't paying attention to where he is headed and way more interested in his cargo that is in tow. HA! Samson is such a good trooper as he loved being Chauffered around the yard.
The only bad thing about this new toy is that Brooks can't get the concept of steering. He just enjoys pushing the petal and watching the scenery. Surely over the next 14-16 years he will pick it up, if not, look out. Fortunately, daddy had a little extra free time since we were planning to head to church that night so he came home an hour early so that he could enjoy the pretty afternoon with Brooks. However, little did we know that in just a few hours our world would be turned a completely different way.
I just love this sweet face and he sure loves his swing set. It does my heart so much good to hear him giggle and playing his little heart out.
If you look closely you will see a few bumps on Brooks' face as he had them on his cheek when he woke up Saturday morning. I didn't think much of it as I thought maybe it was a heat rash from laying on his pillow that night. Little did I know that this was the start to a long road that we are still dealing with. A few hours after this exact picture was taken we were in the Emergency Room with our angel trying to figure out why his entire body had a terrible rash, welps, and raised bumps all over him. Turns out, he was having an allergic reaction to the Amoxicillen that he was given last week for his first-ever ear infection. How in the world could the yummy pink bubble gum stuff cause so much pain to our little baby?
Well, after 2 steroids, a bottle of Benedryl,Claritin, lots of vomitting and bathroom accidents, we are hopefully on the road to recovery. Little scares like this sure make us appreciate the healthy child we usually have.

The ups and downs of being a parent!! Glad you found out what was wrong so fast, things can definatley go from good to bad so fast with the little ones!!
Love the pictures....we are so ready for spring here too! Sounds like Brooks had had a rough week:( At least now you know it was just the penicillin.
