We thought we would take a little mini vacation and take Brooks to his first Major League Baseball game and to the Zoo in Cincinnati.
He absolutely loved both of them. We were a little nervous about how long we would get to stay at the game, however he made it thru all 9 innings, plus one more inning when it went into OVERTIME. Of all nights for us to take Brooks to a game, that have a tie during the 9th inning. CRAZY! We got to see a hometown guy, Joseph Blanton pitch most of the game as well as the Phillies manager get thrown out of the game and suspended for getting up in the umpire's face. It was definately quite a show.
The last few weeks have been outrageously SCORCHING hot weather wise so we weren't looking foward to the blasting heat with a toddler. However a wonderful cool front came in and it was like 78 degrees during the last two days of June. We couldn't have planned a better time to go if we had wanted to. We made plans to go with a couple from church, however Christie got a headache at the last minute and wasn't able to make it. Wes was a trooper with Brooks as he was quite vocal during a couple fireworks from homeruns. We were thankful to have the extra room for Brooks to move around. He kept several rows around us entertained for most of the game.
He sat on the ground a lot reading books and playing with his hot wheels. We couldn't believe that he was so patient and good for the WHOLE game. I know we are a tad partial but we sure do have a GOOD kid. Lord knows, if we decide to have a second one, they'll probably be a HANDFULL. Guess we should stop while we are ahead, right?? HEE!
Lets just say by the end of the night, he was exhausted.
Happy Wednesday!

Looks like fun! I'm glad Brooks was a trooper for his first game.
